Customs confiscated their shrubbery.
Had a wonderful meeting last night with two American fans, Hannah and Nathan who stopped by Hamilton on their vacation in Southern Ontario to come out to the Werx with me and sing Karaoke. I always love meeting my readers. A fun time was had by all.

No no no!! Ever since Canada hired the Knights Who Say NI! as their customs agents, you need to have a shubbery to get past them and into the country. Which reminds me that I need to go water my bribe fern....

A lovely time was had by all! Sorry about my sluggishness and abrupt departure. Seems I was coming down with some cold-hardened Canadian virus that managed to keep my innards boiling for the next four days, all better now fortunately.

Had an interesting exchange with driving through American border on the way back too, after I informed the humorless man at the turnpike that we were carrying 7 bottles of Niagara wine and 2.5 cases of Ontario beer. "Why so much alcohol?" "I don't come to Canada often, there's a lot of good wineries and breweries up there you know." "But why so much?" "Well, I drink a lot of beer. Can't I just pay duty on it?" "It's not worth it! Never do this again! Now go!" Apparently international flying has deluded me into thinking that declaring goods and paying customs on them was a routine event.
