Spider-Man and Total Recall [Aug. 7th, 2012|03:14 am]

Saw Spider-Man and Total Recall tonight at the drive-in.

Spider-Man was overall very entertaining and a very good comicbook movie that only had a few parts that made me go "oh come on".

Total Recall. Not so much so. While the special effects were amazing (and really in this day and age there's no reason why the special effects shouldn't be amazing) the cinematography was way too dark at times making it very difficult to see what was going on. Lots of action and excitement but sadly there was just way too much stupid shit that made absolutely no sense what-so-ever. This wasn't helped by the fact that the opening text which was supposed to introduce you to the plot was twirling and flashing distractingly and on screen far too briefly to be useful. This movie is nowhere near as good as the original.

"This movie is nowhere near as good as the original."

It was pretty much a given that it wouldn't be. The original was just fine and there was no need for a remake in the first place.
